Hold two keys, speak, and the words land in whatever app already has your cursor. Hebrew, English, or both in the same sentence. Nothing leaves your computer.

Hebrew word error rate — our model against standard Whisper
not $540 over three years
Word error rate measured on the eval-d1 Hebrew benchmark. Lower is better. Source
Three facts, each from the vendor's own documentation.
Microsoft's own support answer, February 2025: Windows 11 does not support Hebrew for built-in voice typing. Voice Access covers fifteen languages and Hebrew is not among them. There are two separate threads on Microsoft's forum asking when this will change. If you work in Hebrew on a PC, your operating system has nothing for you.
Microsoft Q&A →Apple lists Hebrew under Dictation. It does not list Hebrew under on-device dictation, and it does not list Hebrew under automatic punctuation. Both absences are on Apple's own feature page. So Hebrew dictation on a Mac means your voice goes to a server, and what comes back is an unbroken wall of words you then punctuate yourself.
Apple feature availability →The good cloud dictation tools cost $8 to $24 a month, need an internet connection to work at all, and treat Hebrew as a second-tier language — accurate enough, not tuned. Three years of one of them costs more than ten times what this does.
No window to open and no button to hunt for. Hover a step to hear its shape.
Two keys, anywhere. Word, Gmail, WhatsApp, Slack, your editor, a terminal.
Full speed, full sentences. No pauses for the machine to catch up.
The text is already there, punctuated, in the right direction.
This is how people here actually talk, and it is where most dictation tools fall over.
Typed exactly as spoken — one press, no settings changed.
Most tools pick a language when you start speaking and commit to it for the whole sentence. DictateIL doesn't pick.
Your voice is transcribed by a model sitting on your hard drive. There is no account to create, no server to trust and no privacy policy worth reading, because there is nothing on the other end.
Cloud dictation services answer the privacy question with certificates — SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001. Those describe how carefully somebody else handles your voice. This is a simpler claim: nobody else handles it.
Which matters if you dictate anything you would not put in an email — legal drafts, medical notes, a source's name, an unreleased script, a password you read aloud by accident.
Compares categories rather than named products, because the products change monthly and the architectures don't.
| DictateIL | Cloud subscriptions | Built-in dictation | Free open source | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hebrew | Hebrew-tuned model | generic, second-tier | Windows: none · Mac: no punctuation | generic Whisper |
| Hebrew + English mid-sentence | yes | no | no | no |
| Where your voice is processed | your machine | their servers | Mac: Apple's servers | your machine |
| Works with no internet | yes | no | partly | yes |
| Cost over three years | $39 | $290–$860 | free | free |
| Signed installer and support | yes | yes | — | no |
The last row is the honest answer to "why pay when there are free ones." The free tools are real and they work. They have no Hebrew model, no installer you can trust, and nobody to email when they break.
Transcription this fast needs real hardware. Here is exactly what, so nobody is surprised.
Not sure? The trial checks your machine on first launch and tells you in about five seconds. The 14 days don't start until it passes.
No subscription, no account, no upsell.
Two machines per licence. Free updates within the major version. 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. Already have one platform and need the other? Cross-grade at half price — just email us.
Yes. Turn off Wi-Fi and try it during the trial — that is the fastest way to satisfy yourself. The only thing that needs a connection is the one-time activation after you buy.
It transcribes both, in one press, without you changing a setting. Hebrew stays right-to-left and the English words sit inside it correctly.
Apple Silicon has the hardware built in. On a PC we need a dedicated GPU to keep transcription under a second — on integrated graphics a four-second sentence took over eight seconds, which is unusable for push-to-talk. We are working on a version for machines without one. It is not in version 1.
No — they are separate products. There is a half-price cross-grade if you need both.
Not within the major version. Updates are free.
Yes. Your licence covers two machines.
14 days of use within 30 days of starting the trial to try it before you pay anything, and 14 days after you buy to change your mind.
