What's new in DictateIL 1.6.2
Keep talking while it types
You can start a new dictation while the previous one is still being transcribed. Each one pastes in the order you spoke it. Up to five can wait at once; past that, DictateIL tells you the extra one wasn't kept.
Recent Dictations and Paste Last Dictation
The DictateIL menu now has Paste Last Dictation, Recent Dictations and Clear Recent Dictations. Paste Last Dictation also has a shortcut, ⌃⇧⌘V, which you can change in Settings > Hotkeys. Your last few dictations are kept in memory for 10 minutes, so you can paste one that missed. They're deleted when your screen locks, your Mac sleeps or you quit, and they're never saved to disk.
Your clipboard comes back
Once the app you're typing in has taken the text, whatever you had copied before is put back as it was. If you copy something new in the meantime, DictateIL leaves it alone.
The "Didn't paste" window
A dictation never pastes while you're still holding keys; it waits until you let go. If another key stays held for more than 10 seconds, you've switched apps since you spoke, or the app didn't take the text, the dictation goes to the "Didn't paste" window, with a Paste button, instead of landing in the wrong place.
We also fixed a case where, after a paste, your Mac could act as if the Command key were still held, which delayed the next dictation.
Microphones and webcams
After you unplug and reconnect a webcam or USB microphone, DictateIL goes back to the right input. If a microphone is connected but sends no sound, DictateIL tells you which one ("No sound from …") and points you to Settings > Audio.
Last words
DictateIL trims the silence at the end of each dictation. With music playing in the room, that trim could also cut your last, softer words. It now keeps them. If macOS Voice Isolation is on for DictateIL, silent pauses at the end of a dictation are now handled correctly.
"Codex"
"Codex" is now recognised when you say it, in Hebrew and in English.
Licence status
Settings > About shows your licence status: active, with the end of your key, the days left in your trial, or Trial ended, with an Enter Licence Key… button.
Quitting
If you quit while dictations are still being transcribed, DictateIL asks first. Wait, Then Quit lets them finish and paste; Quit discards them. Shutting down, restarting or logging out never waits.
